Hosted in Canberra at the National Archives of Australia, world leaders in information and records management will collaborate with our Australian industry counterparts over three days to participate in a series of round table discussions focused on global issues and topics impacting records, archives and information professionals globally. 

Discussions will be based around the following topic points:


28th April 6.00pm - 9.30pm (AESDT)

Topic 1 – Information and Data Governance  - achieving interoperability and delivering on strategic objectives 

  • The keys to effective Information and Data Governance

  • Getting your Information Governance Framework in place 

  • Aligning information and data to maximise value and minimise risks

  • Why leadership and collaboration matters for interoperability


29th April 9.00am - 12.30pm (AESDT)

Topic 2 – Long term requirements for digital preservation 

  • Can we rely on digital records in 100 years?

  • Is social media a repository for digital records?

  • Will our history be accurate in the digital world?

  • How much digital information is required to maintain an accurate record?


30th April: 6.30am - 10.30am (AESDT)

Topic 3- Required Education and Training for new age records and information professionals in digital world. 

  • Discuss changing requirements for R&I Professionals

  • How to cope with the digital imposition

  • What must change to remain sustainable?

  • How can R&I professionals compete with information technologists and Data Scientists?


30th April: 1.00pm - 4.30pm (AESDT)

Topic 4 – Where is the future of information heading? 

  • Intelligent information driving the modern economy

  • Using artificial intelligence in all areas.

  • Using machine learning to predict business outcomes


This event is free and observers are welcome to attend the round table discussions, but must register to attend, as space is limited.
