The 37th RIMPA Live annual convention, hosted by the Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia will be held in the city of Canberra in ACT from October 11-14, 2021. 

The RIMPA Live Convention has established itself as the premier industry and professional convention since 1984 and provides an international forum for the presentation of original research results, as well as the exchange and dissemination of innovative thought provoking and practical development experiences. Living in today’s unprecedented times, the world has brought us significant challenges and triumphs, along with the need to gain new perspectives and strategies.

This convention will shift your thoughts towards a modern and holistic approach to all facets of information management, a way forward by ‘Keeping P.A.C.E’ with the profession.
Covering all facets of information and records management including compliance, privacy, data management, records management, digital preservation, education, leadership, and information management. Industry experts will gather and join us from all around the world to share their P.A.C.E with us.

COVID Event Update:

As restrictions remain, in light of COVID-19, we wanted to re-iterate the precautions that RIMPA will have in place at the RIMPA Live 2021 Convention to ensure the health and safety of our face to face delegates. 

The Hyatt have a Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment which builds on their existing rigorous safety and cleanliness protocols, with additional measures put in place to ensure the safety of all guests entering the venue. Please see here for a full list of safety measures put in place for hotel guests at The Hyatt.

In addition to the venue protocols we will be conducting a regular risk assessment to ensure that we are implementing the best industry safe practice in relation to the guidelines provided by the government and health organisations.

Precautions that will be in place include:

  • Social distancing measures in all RIMPA live event spaces

  • Temperature checks upon entry to the convention rooms on arrival

  • No handshaking policy 

  • Face coverings

  • Implement new seating configurations where delegates will be seated 1.5 metres apart in the convention sessions 

  • Designated one-way systems (entry and exit) into the trade expo and convention breakout rooms 

  • Number of people allowed on site will be monitored and restrictions of number of people allowed within each specific event space

  • Hand sanitisation stations will be set up around the convention plenary and breakout rooms

  • Food and beverage service will be delivered as per guidelines. No buffet/catering stations but delegates will either be given individual lunch boxes or will be seated in the restaurant with table service offered.

  • Staggered timings of food and beverage service and entry to each event space, to help control the flow of delegates

  • Rigorous cleaning of trade exhibition space daily
