The National Archives is working to improve information management practices in Australian Commonwealth Government agencies in numerous ways including measuring information management maturity, delivering the Building Trust in the Public Record policy and updating the Australian Government Recordkeeping Metadata Standard. These improvements will incorporate metadata about Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property, improve descriptions and discoverability and assist in enabling appropriate access. This innovative work is aimed at improving trust in government, institutional integrity and supporting reconciliation.
Kylie Moloney has worked in the cultural sector for over 20 years with a particular focus on Indigenous people and collections. She is currently acting Director of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement at the National Archives of Australia. Kylie is experienced at leadership, collection access, engagement, outreach and collection management. She is motivated by truth-telling and the stories found in collections.
