We will navigate you through a brief introduction to the PPDM Association, critical components of energy data and the data ecosystem, PPDM-driven innovation, and how this relates to RIMPA professionals. Captivated by geology and IT since high school, Alex has successfully built a geoscience, data & IT career in the energy and mining industries in the UK, Australia, USA & Europe. Global and Australian organisations include Shell, Santos, SLB, Beach Energy, the SA Department of Energy and Mines and Heathgate Resources.
Bridging the gaps between business, resources, IT and data has been a consistent thread of his work and collaborative leadership. Alex addresses these challenges with a curious, collegial and customer-based approach. He aligns data, requirements and teams to deliver valuable insights from data of a known quality, completeness and timeliness. This focus is crucial given the energy and mining sectors are data rich and information poor. Nationally and globally, this creates an opportunity to increase energy and mining companies value by providing more confidence in data driven decision making.
Tertiary qualified in Geology, with an MSc in Sedimentology. Alex is a lifelong learner, adding the PPDM (Professional Petroleum Data Management Association) Certified Petroleum Data Management Analyst (CPDA) achievement.
