In 2021 the Geological Survey of Western Australia, a division of the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, began its journey to digitally transform its wealth of geoscience data. Assuring long-term preservation and improved accessibility are two of the principles guiding the subsequent multi-year program of work named the Geoscience Data Transformation Program. This presentation will explain the approach the Program is pursuing, what it has delivered to date, and plans for the next phase.

Tony is an experienced data management specialist of over 30 years spending most of his career within the geoscience domain. Tony has worked across multiple international regions include the UK, Europe, Norway, US, Canada, Middle East, India, New Zealand and Australia and is now the Program Manager for the Geoscience Data Transformation Program.
