This session explores how to identify, preserve and manage records when systems are retired, ensuring legal, business and accountability requirements continue to be met. Learn about the risks and opportunities associated with legacy systems, key drivers for decommissioning, and why planning for the end should begin at the start of every system's lifecycle.
Stefania Di Maria is the Acting Manager, Policy and Assurance, Government Records. She has worked on Queensland's Digital Archiving Program from its inception, contributing to the design, development and launch of The Digital Archive for the State of Queensland.
With a degree in Philosophy and a Graduate Certificate in Records Management and Archives, Stefania is passionate about preserving digital records and ensuring their long-term accessibility. In her current role, she leads the development of guidance, education and resources designed to uplift records management capability across the Queensland public sector, helping public authorities meet their recordkeeping obligations and manage information effectively throughout its lifecycle.
