Long ago, in a galaxy far away…
Years. Multiple departments. Mountains of legacy data. A migration plan that resembled a plate of spaghetti. We're not talking about your average IM project; we're talking about an odyssey. We tackled what felt like the world's longest, most complex information management project… and lived to tell the tale.
This isn't your typical "best practices" presentation (though we'll sneak some in). Instead, we'll take you on a rollercoaster ride through the trenches, highlighting the epic fails, the unexpected victories, and the sheer absurdity of trying to tame a data beast that just kept growing, seemingly defying the laws of time and terabytes.
This also isn't just a war story; it's a survival guide. In this session, we'll share the battlefield tactics we developed to navigate the chaos, the data disasters we narrowly averted, and the hard-learned lessons that saved our sanity. Get ready for real-world advice, humorous anecdotes, and actionable strategies you can use to conquer your own IM challenges.
Expect:
- War stories: Tales from the front lines, with names changed to protect the guilty (and ourselves).
- WTF moments: Jaw-dropping examples of data gone wild and project management gone sideways.
- Survival strategies: Practical tips and hard-won wisdom for navigating your own information management challenges.
- T-shirt envy: A glimpse of the coveted "I survived..." t-shirt that became a symbol of our team's resilience (and slight insanity).
If you've ever questioned your career choices while staring at a spreadsheet, this is the presentation for you! Come prepared to laugh, learn, and maybe even share your own horror stories. Misery loves company, especially when there are continuing education credits involved.
