Look – No hands! | AI Wonderland - How To Create Detailed Catalogue Indexes For Archive Box Contents Without Using A Keyboard

11.30am – 12pm AWST, 6 June 2024 ‐ 30 mins

Presented By Chris Dinneen

Today there are billions of archive boxes in offsite storage and on shelves in corporate warehouses and no one knows what’s inside them! What if AI could look inside an archive box and see what is inside without human intervention or subjectivity.

For decades, data managers, librarians, and corporate record custodians have relied on simple text based manual entry catalogues to create, describe, track, and locate records owned by the business or government departments.

The humble archive box then gets filled with these records and becomes a time capsule of times gone past.  Over extended time periods, data and records managers lose track of what is in their boxes or receive boxes from other locations in the business that have no catalogue to start with.  If all data managers had photographic memories, none of this would be an issue, but unfortunately it is. But what if artificial intelligence (AI) could look inside an archive box for you and tell you what is inside these boxes without you even lifting a finger?

This presentation will focus on demonstrating to data managers how to own their own “photographic memory” using the power AI, ML and the AWS cloud.
