The year 2000 marked more than a new millennium for me.  It was the year that I started my career in information and records management. Paper files still dominated offices; Australia Post was still the harbinger of information sharing; and emails and Word documents were but a small amount of records saved into a RM system. Records and files that were to be retained permanently held a special place in our hearts and daily workloads. The old 80/20 rule was firmly in place to ensure the protection of permanent records which were largely seen as the greatest risk to an organisation.

A quarter of a century later, have R&IM practitioners pivoted to meet the increasing risks associated with the collection and retention of Personal Information that is spread across our workplaces in all formats and systems? How can the profession learn and perform the ever-increasing amount of steps required for risk mitigation? Bring your dancing shoes, thinking caps and energy to an interactive session of brainstorming, connecting and (hopefully) laughter.
