Boards are accelerating AI adoption despite shrinking budgets, heightened cyber risks, stricter regulations, and growing concerns around privacy and ethics. Success depends on well-governed data - structured and unstructured - yet organisations face a maze of frameworks and standards such as DMBOK, DCAM, NAA Standards, ARMA, NIST to name a few. Too often, this results in siloed teams competing for limited resources. Our session introduces a novel operating model that harmonises these frameworks through innovative technology, consolidating functions to reduce complexity, strengthen governance, and control costs. Our session will be Interactive and educational, and we invite participants to explore practical strategies for sustainable, enterprise-wide AI governance.
Andrew Andrews is Regional Advocate (Australia, New Zealand and Middle East) for the Enterprise Data Management Association. He is past Vice President Marketing DAMA International and former President of DAMA Australia. He has four decades experience in Data Governance/Data Management, including executive roles at ANZ Bank and an Australian Government Regulator. Andrew has delivered keynotes and panel sessions on Empathetic Data Management at International conferences in the US, Europe and Australia and co-presented DMBOK+DCAM+AI GOVERNANCE topic with Howard Diesel at Dataversity EDW DGIQ Conference Anaheim USA on 7th May.

Howard Diesel is the current President of the DAMA South Africa Chapter and a passionate advocate for data management. With 40 years of experience, he founded Modelware Systems and served as its Chief Data Officer. Howard has trained around 3,000 data professionals for CDMP exams and contributes to the EDM Council and ISO, playing a key role in industry standards. He specializes in establishing Data Offices and is a compelling keynote speaker, sharing insights from his extensive background in data management. He has spent the last 3 years training and contributing to the NDMO V2 Standard in Saudi Arabia. Currently serving on the DMBOK V3 Editorial Board.
