Stream 2 | The Carnegie Stage
Many organisations have implemented document and records management capabilities, yet information often remains disconnected from the business processes where work actually happens.
This session explores how Records and Information Management professionals can move beyond compliance and help build organisational capability by embedding information management directly into the workflows, activities, projects, and decisions that shape everyday work.
Drawing on ANAO audit insights and practical experience, the session will examine how organisations can improve capture at the point of creation, strengthen metadata and context, reduce information silos, and make trusted information easier to use across operational and governance activities.
Looking ahead, the session will explore the growing shift toward conversational, and AI enabled access to organisational information. As users increasingly expect to engage with business content in natural language, the quality of underlying information governance becomes even more important. When information is trusted, contextualised, discoverable, and well governed, organisations are better placed to support faster insights, stronger transparency, and more confident decision making.
