Where IM Meets AI: Considering IM Governance Before Things Get Weird | Presented By Kylie Welch

10am – 10.25am AEDT, 22 October 2026 ‐ 25 mins

Stream 1 | The Palladium Stage

Artificial Intelligence is already embedded in the tools we use every day, from Microsoft 365 to search, automation, and content generation.  It promises speed, efficiency and insight at a scale we have never seen before…BUT… it also introduces new risks around accuracy, ownership, privacy and control. This is where Information Management becomes not just relevant, but essential.

This presentation will be anchored in current guidance from government, including both New Zealand and Australian Archives, using these as a practical foundation rather than theory. From there, it will work through other emerging resources and considerations that are shaping how we approach AI within Information Management, helping to connect what is written in guidance with what is happening in reality.
