The City of Boroondara is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Information Archives Officer to join our Corporate Information team on a fixed-term basis. In this essential role, you’ll manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Council’s physical and digital records—ensuring compliance with legal, operational, and governance standards.
This is your opportunity to play a key role in protecting our city’s historical integrity while helping ensure timely and effective access to critical information.
A bit about the role
- Appraise, sentence and manage records in line with Public Records Office Victoria (PROV) guidelines
- Process and prepare archives for offsite storage, ensuring accurate tracking and retrieval
- Support mailroom services and the capture, classification and distribution of corporate records
- Provide friendly and accurate support to staff seeking information management advice
- Contribute to quality audits and information governance projects as required
About you
- To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- A qualification in records management or equivalent experience in a similar role is desirable
- Working knowledge of public records legislation and standards will be an advantage
- Experience using electronic document and records management systems (EDRMS)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience in performing stand alone functions.
- The ability to safely lift and move parcels and archive boxes, in line with safe work procedures, is essential. Ability to satisfy pre-employment requirements.
