Welcome to the Eligibility Process for the Awards

The Julie Apps New Practitioner Award celebrates outstanding individual contributions to the Records and Information Management (R&IM) profession. Candidates who achieve a minimum of 50 points through demonstrable impact across three core categories—Workplace Contribution, Knowledge Sharing, and Learning & Development—will advance to Nominations.

To qualify, nominees must:

  • Workplace Contribution: Involvement in R&IM working groups, advocacy efforts, development of training materials, contribution to governance documents, and participation in workplace or volunteer projects.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Publication of articles in industry publications, RIMPA’s iQ Magazine or IM Now newsletter, and involvement in research projects or papers.
  • Learning & Development: Participation in R&IM events, attendance at RIMPA Live, and completion of RIMPA-recognised qualifications and accredited courses.

Important: Points are only awarded when supporting evidence is provided for each activity. Detailed submission guidelines and criteria are outlined in the nomination form.
