About the role

In this role, you will gain valuable practical experience supporting the lifecycle of Council’s records — from creation and storage through to archiving and disposal.

You will help ensure information is managed securely, accurately, and in line with legislation and best practice.

Reporting to the Team Leader Records, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Processing and registering incoming correspondence using our Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM) system (Content Manager)
  • Assisting with digitisation, archiving, sentencing, and retrieval of records
  • Supporting data audits, reports and process improvement initiatives
  • Helping deliver user training and awareness sessions
  • Facilitating access to archival collections for staff and the community
  • Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Currently studying in the penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree in information studies, records or archives management
  • Eager to build a career in information and records management
  • Accurate and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • A clear communicator who enjoys helping others and working in a team
  • Comfortable using digital systems and adaptable to learning new technologies
