Records Archivist

Partner with staff across business units, provide practical guidance and training, and lead initiatives that improve how records are created, managed and preserved.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the retention & disposal program for records generated by RAS business units.
- Advise on appraisal, classification, transfer and records procedures; respond to internal queries on best practice.
- Analyse data, conduct audits and prepare recommendation reports aligned to Australian laws, policies and standards.
- Create and deliver training to build a positive records management culture across the organisation.
- Investigate, assess and appraise significant records; manage transfer to the Heritage Centre to ensure completeness and long-term preservation.
- Manage Committee and Board minutes across physical and digital collections, including description, discoverability and targeted digitisation.
- Support heritage services and research requests; coordinate outreach, student or volunteer projects as needed.
- Maintain clear documentation and regular progress reporting; contribute to safe work practices and positive team culture.
Hours & flexibility:
This permanent part-time role is 22.8 hours/3 days per week; the attendance pattern is agreed with the Manager, Heritage Centre. Additional hours may be required in the lead-up to and during the Sydney Royal Easter Show and other events.
