About RIMPA

The Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA) is the longest serving peak body for industry practitioners in the southern hemisphere. RIMPA actively promotes best practice, sets industry standards and fosters professional development across all business sectors and educational institutions.

Established in 1969, RIMPA is a not for profit company who represent over 2,000 professionals and organisations in the private sector, Commonwealth, Federal, State and Local Governments.

RIMPA has active Branches and Chapters operating in all states and territories across Australia and New Zealand.

Through it's international partnerships with other peak bodies, RIMPA provides its members with access to an accomplished framework of professional associations.

RIMPA has strategic alliances with the Information Governance ANZ and Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML).

Advocacy

RIMPA is committed to advocating on behalf of its members’ on issues impacting records and information professionals and on matters relating to recordkeeping in society.

As part of RIMPA’s commitment to cultivating exemplary practice in records and information management, we focus on three main areas:

Leadership:
  • Provide leadership in records and information management and a framework for members’, the community and government advocacy

  • Administer submissions and representations to all levels of government

  • Raise the profile of the profession and industry practitioners

Community
  • Deliver compelling member communication and unique member benefits

  • Work with Branches, Chapters and Special Interest Groups (SIG) to advocate matters impacting them

  • Representation of membership to international and Australasian governance bodies

  • Collaborate with distinguished allied professional associations

Knowledge
