Starting from the question 'What is a digital record?' - this course will unpack various aspects of Digital Archiving which will include digital sentencing, retention, and disposal. Consideration is given to the different systems where digital records may be found, and how different systems and repositories can add or detract from the integrity and authenticity of that record.

Digital Preservation and Continuity emphasise long-term preservation of records, risk management around digital records, technical metadata for digital archiving and also touches on the notion of interoperability in assessing your agency's digital information governance maturity.

Regardless of your organisation or sector meeting your long-term digital archiving, preservation and continuity needs can be challenging.

This workshop will introduce you to the differences between digital archiving, preservation, and perpetuation. The workshop will also introduce you to some terminologies, standards, and the digital preservation capability maturity model (DPCMM).
