Information Protection Manager

The Information Protection Manager will be responsible for leading initiatives and driving organisational change to establish sustainable information protection practices across the City, leading to embedded and sustained practices for privacy, confidentiality, records management, and information security.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Leading and driving the City in sustainable change initiatives aimed at fortifying the protection of sensitive information.
- Establishing, monitoring and reporting on compliant and ethical practices for collection, management, storage, and disposal of high risk / high value information across the organisation.
- Leading the development of retention and disposal plans for City business systems
- Leading the establishment of robust information protection practices for City business areas
- Applying innovative solutions and best-practice principles to establish and communicate organisation-wide strategies, policies, and procedures for the protection of high risk / high value information.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications, at degree level, and/or demonstrated significant equivalent experience and competencies.
- Proven experience in leading information protection (privacy, records management, ethics, and confidentiality) related strategic planning and delivery of roadmap initiatives.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of data governance, privacy, managing high risk / high value information, records management, and information security.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder and change management.
- Proven education and training skills, including ability to build and lead communities of expertise, plan and conduct training and a high level of experience in workshop and forum facilitation.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including consultation, advisory, negotiation/ influencing, and interpersonal skills as well as proven ability to write appropriate, accurate and quality documentation, memoranda, and reports.
