Since the 1980s, the library and archival community have used "preservation" as an umbrella term for activities that reduce or prevent chemical and physical deterioration or damage in order to prevent loss of informational content and extend the life expectancy of collections.
Preservation, conservation, prevention, restoration, and active preservation; are some of the terminologies that will be clarified in this workshop.
