2026 Hackathon - Have your say
Brought to you by RIMPA Global and proudly sponsored by the National Archives of Australia (NAA), the 2026 Hackathon is now in its third year!
For the last two years, it brought together some of the brightest minds in our profession to tackle unique challenges that our industry face. The result? Innovative ideas and practical solutions that helped advance thinking on some of our sector’s biggest questions.
Now it’s time to shape the next chapter
We’re officially calling for your input on the business problems our 2026 Hackers should solve. This is your chance to shine a light on the tough issues you and your colleagues face every day. Whether it’s a process bottleneck, a technology pain point, or a change management hurdle, we want to hear about the real-world challenges standing in your way.
What Makes a Great Hackathon Challenge?
- Focuses on solving an operational or strategic business problem.
- Explores ways to improve technology use, streamline processes, or manage change effectively.
- Is a challenge that, if solved, should benefit the broader industry, not just one organisation.
While we would all love a miracle solution to increase budgets or charm senior management, our Hackathon is about creating actionable, realistic solutions that drive immediate improvements in how we work.
Why Get Involved in the Hackathon?
- Be Part of Industry-Wide Innovation: The Hackathon isn’t just an event, it’s a catalyst for real solutions that improve our profession.
- See Fresh Perspectives on Old Problems: Sometimes it takes a new set of eyes and collaborative energy to see opportunities you didn’t realise existed.
- Shape the Future of IM: By submitting your challenge, you directly contribute to the evolution of information management practices.
- Strengthen Our Professional Community: Shared challenges lead to shared solutions. What you raise today could help countless other professionals tomorrow.
How to Submit Your Challenge?
Send your business problem to the Hackathon Committee at [email protected] by 18 February 2026 . The selected problem, or possibly more than one, will become the focus of our 2026 Hackathon, helping to shape the future of information management across the industry.
Don’t hold back, if it’s keeping you up at night, chances are it’s affecting others too. Submit your ideas and be part of driving real, practical innovation in our profession.
