Nominations are now open, and we encourage you to consider nominating a colleague, team, or yourself.

This prestigious Award provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the unsung champions of records, information and archives management — and related fields — across South Australia. It spans a wide range of sectors including government, health, education, libraries, museums, cultural institutions, and community organisations.

About the Award

Established in honour of the late Bernadette Bean, the Award recognises individuals and teams who demonstrate dedication, leadership, service excellence, and innovation in:

• Records, information and knowledge management
• Archives management
• Library, history, museum and cultural heritage collections management

The Award acknowledges those whose efforts strengthen governance, accountability, digital transformation, service delivery, and the preservation and accessibility of organisational and community memory. It shines a light on best practice and recognises those shaping the future of our profession.

Areas of Excellence

We invite nominations of individuals and teams who have delivered - or are working towards - measurable impact, best practice, and continuous improvement in areas such as:

• Strengthening governance, capture, preservation, digitisation and digital access practices
• Advancing technologies and digital transformation, including ECM, EDRMS, automation and AI-enabled solutions
• Leading organisational change, building capability, mentoring others, and contributing to sector-wide improvement

Nominations are welcomed from practitioners at all career stages - including emerging professionals, established leaders, teams, volunteers, students and retirees.

Prize Package

The 2026 Award winner will receive:

• An Award Governance Committee prize package valued at $1,000
• A 12-month RIMPA Global membership (if not already a member)

Membership includes access to professional development, networking opportunities, mentoring and scholarship programs, industry updates, webinars, job listings, and discounted events — including the RIMPA Global Live Convention.
