Celebrating Our 2025 Scholarship Winners!
💬 Here’s what they have to say about what this opportunity means to them, and how it’s shaping their professional journey.
🌍 Neil Granland International Convention – ARMA InfoCon Scholarship
Congratulations to Nicole Thorne-Vicatos, RIMPA Ambassador from the Port of Townsville, who is heading to ARMA InfoCon in the United States, proudly representing RIMPA on the global stage.
As R/IM practitioners, we all know how difficult it can be to feel validated and appreciated when we quite often work alone, remotely or our contributions are not understood. Being awarded the Neil Granland International Convention – ARMA International’s InfoCon Scholarship is (I imagine) equivalent to an actor receiving an Oscar!
Being recognised by my peers – the people who know the challenges and how hard we work to be relevant in our organisations – is fantastic. Volunteering with RIMPA Global gives me opportunities that would be difficult to have when working in regional Queensland. It is a reciprocal arrangement where I can learn from others, listen to different perspectives and share my own knowledge and experiences.
This scholarship provides me with opportunities to network with our counterparts in the United States and proudly represent RIMPA Global at an international forum. I hope that others can see the benefits of investing some time with RIMPA Global to build their skills and help others to do the same. I will be sharing my experience at InfoCon in October – stay tuned!
🏆 Marita Keenan RIMPA Live Scholarship
Congratulations to Maddison Lamont from the City of Rockingham, WA, who will be attending the 40th Annual RIMPA Live Convention in Melbourne this October.
Thank you so much to RIMPA for this amazing opportunity to attend the 40th Annual RIMPA Live Convention 2025 as part of the Marita Keenan RIMPA Live Scholarship. I am so grateful for the chance to attend such a prestigious event and step outside of the local government bubble I work in to network with industry professionals across the records and information management profession.
The knowledge building and professional development I will gain from attending RIMPA Live is priceless. RIMPA Live's theme of 'Future-Ready in Information' highlights this knowledge building by focusing on preparing the records and information management profession for what the future has in store for information management. I am very much looking forward to attending RIMPA Live and I can't wait to meet everyone in Melbourne.
