Connecting AI and Information Management at QSA

Kris Brown from RecordPoint set the scene with his presentation exploring what changes when machines create, classify and use information, and why strong information foundations are essential to effective AI.

Nancy Taia, RIMPA Global Executive Director, facilitated the panel discussion, exploring AI readiness, governance, opportunities and emerging records challenges. Thank you to our panellists for sharing their expertise:

• Rowena Loo, Executive Director, Government Information, National Archives of Australia.

Participants then explored practical applications of AI in information management through group discussions and workshops. From classification and search to reviewing AI outputs and strengthening governance, the focus was on identifying useful opportunities, considering risks and developing actions to take back to their organisations.

A key message was clear: AI readiness is also information readiness, with information professionals playing a vital role in supporting responsible innovation.
