Deadline Approaching | Nominations for the 2023 Bernadette Bean SA Records Management Service Excellence Award

We wanted to remind you that the deadline for nominations for the 2023 Bernadette Bean SA Records Management Service Excellence Award is fast approaching. The nomination period will close on 8th July 2023, and the winner will be announced in August.

The award aims to celebrate and acknowledge service excellence by eligible SA award nominees in the following areas: records and information management, archives management, knowledge management, and history, cultural heritage, museum and library collections management. We are particularly interested in celebrating nominees who have demonstrated or are working towards best practice and improvement in:

  • capture, management, preservation, governance, digitisation or digital access of information and collection practices and services
  • system technologies or digital transformation (including ECM, EDRMS, archive, collection management, imaging, workflow/business automation, AI systems and solutions)
  • innovation, leadership, teamwork, knowledge sharing, mentoring, research, project management or dedication to the industry.

We welcome nominations for a diverse range of individuals, including current and past eligible SA practitioners, teams, groups, students, archivists, historians, researchers and allied industry professionals and volunteers, and those who go the extra mile. We believe that their outstanding service and initiative deserves recognition and can inspire others to strive for excellence.

The award, established in honour of the late Bernadette Bean, provides an exceptional opportunity to help shine a light on service excellence, support small initiatives, and showcase collections, management practices and solutions that contribute to local, regional or State memory or culture.

The winner of the 2023 award will receive a cash prize of $1,000, as well as a 12-month Records and Information Management Practitioners Alliance - Global (RIMPA Global) membership (if not already a member). The membership includes access to free webinars, forums, mentoring programs, e-magazines, networking opportunities and industry updates; and and discounted rates to events, workshops, training courses and the RIMPA Global Live Convention. Additionally, RIMPA Global will further recognise the award winner on their awards webpage. We extend our gratitude to RIMPA Global for their support and endorsement of the award.
