DPC Members Forum Heads to Melbourne

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is bringing its Members Forum and Networking Event to Melbourne on 29–30 October 2026, providing two days of networking, discussion and knowledge sharing for the Australasia/Asia-Pacific digital preservation community.

Open exclusively to DPC Members, the forum will feature a program of member-led talks, discussions and interactive sessions, giving participants the opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase their work and explore current digital preservation challenges.

The event is particularly focused on practical knowledge exchange, welcoming new entrants to digital preservation, junior staff building their professional networks, experienced practitioners, senior professionals, researchers and students.

Day 1, Thursday 29 October, will be held at the Victorian Archives Centre in North Melbourne and will offer both in-person and online participation. Day 2, Friday 30 October, will be held at the University of Melbourne in Parkville and will be in-person only.

Members are also invited to help shape the program by proposing sessions where they can lead a discussion, demonstrate a solution or workflow, share recent work and lessons learned, or introduce an interactive digital preservation activity.

The Melbourne event is the third DPC Members Forum for 2026, following gatherings in New York City and Edinburgh earlier in the year.
