Exciting News from Kenya: RIMPA Celebrates Our KARMA Mentees!

We’re excited to share some exciting news from our international R/IM community!

Two incredible participants from our KARMA Development Talent Program (KDTP) have secured one-year Records and Information Management (RIM) internship positions with the Parliamentary Service Commission of Kenya - an amazing opportunity as part of the country’s broader Public Service Internship Programme.

One of the interns, RIMPA Member Sammy Atonya, shared their thoughts with us:

"This internship is a remarkable opportunity to apply my skills, gain invaluable experience, and contribute meaningfully to the Records and Information Management profession. I am excited to embark on this journey and grateful for the support of the RIMPA community – especially my mentor Justin, and KARMA."

Another KDTP participant, Millicent Jepleting also expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity:

This internship falls under the Public Service Internship Program, by the Government of Kenya for its youth – recent graduates with less than five years since completing university. It is a one-year contract to help us gain the necessary hands-on experience.

I am so excited to be part of Cohort 7 of the Public Service Commission Internship Program. We began working on 5th May 2025. This is an amazing opportunity to gain practical experience alongside my mentorship learnings. Having never worked under an experienced Information Management professional before, I’m eager to learn directly from those in the field.

I feel privileged to have been deployed to the Commission’s head office, especially as they are currently digitising their records – allowing me to experience this process first-hand."

Additionally, I graduated on 4th July 2025 from KCA University with a Diploma in Information Technology. I am very grateful to RIMPA Global, KARMA, and my mentor, Dr Bethany Sinclair Giardini, for the mentorship opportunity that is helping me develop my own personal brand in the Information Management industry.

We couldn’t be prouder of their achievement and can’t wait to see what the next year brings for them. It’s inspiring to see how the this KDTP is creating real-world opportunities and setting future leaders up for success in the R/IM space.

Congratulations again - we’re cheering you on from across the globe!
