Expressions of Interest Open: AI and UK Government Records Workshop
The workshop forms part of the LUSTRE/GLOW initiative, led by Professor Lise Jaillant and supported by Loughborough University in collaboration with The National Archives and the UK Cabinet Office. The initiative brings together archivists, knowledge and information management professionals, AI specialists and researchers to explore how artificial intelligence can improve access to born digital government records.
Across two days, participants will engage in discussions on current practices, shared challenges and emerging opportunities, including topics such as metadata quality, provenance, sensitivity and institutional trust. The workshop also provides a platform to exchange perspectives across different sectors and international contexts.
The event will be delivered in a hybrid format, with options to attend in person or online. Due to limited capacity, expressions of interest are required for in person attendance only. Online participation will remain open, with further details to be provided.
Confirmed keynote speakers include representatives from the UK Cabinet Office, The National Archives, the University of Maryland, the National Archives and Records Administration, and the University of Glasgow.
Attendance is free, with lunch and refreshments provided for in person participants.
Those wishing to attend in person are invited to submit an expression of interest by Monday 30 March, including a short bio and a brief statement outlining their expertise and interest in the topic. Successful applicants will be notified in early April.
