Fresh Perspectives for Local Government
Local government records and information professionals came together for a morning of insights, conversation and networking, proudly sponsored by Leadership Through Data.
Thank you to Laura Baldwin, who stepped in for Martyn Killion to present the State Records NSW and Museums of History NSW update. Michael Haley and Carol Stainbrook from Cohasset Associates explored how meaningful metrics and benchmarking can demonstrate the value of information governance. Jacqueline Stockwell ARIM from Leadership Through Data, joined by her daughter, shared how simple language and everyday examples can help build confidence with AI.
The morning concluded with a panel discussion facilitated by Jade Reed ARIM, exploring changing roles, priorities and opportunities to strengthen information governance in councils. Our thanks to panellists Bianca Lovett, Manager Customer and Information Services, Parkes Shire Council; Colin Cunningham, Coordinator Business Information, Burwood Council; and Denise Contractor, Penrith City Council, for sharing their perspectives.
A big thank you to Leadership Through Data for supporting the meeting, to Jade Reed ARIM, RIMPA Ambassador, for facilitating the session, and to everyone who joined the conversation and connected with colleagues over morning tea.
