Local Government Professionals Unite Ahead of RIMPA Live 2025!

Before the official kick-off of RIMPA Live 2025, more than 60 local government professionals from across Australia came together on Tuesday 28 November for the Local Government Community of Practice (CoP) Meeting.

The energy in the room perfectly captured the theme “Collaborate, Connect, Contribute”, as attendees shared experiences, swapped ideas, and strengthened connections across councils and regions.

The session opened with a warm welcome and updates from RIMPA and the Public Record Office Victoria (PROV), before diving into thought-provoking discussions led by David Robinson (City of Greater Geelong) and Stephen Clarke MRIM CSRIM PG DipAARM (Life). Their conversation sparked valuable insights into the challenges and successes shaping information management within local government today.

Participants also heard from Micro Image, the event sponsor, who highlighted innovative approaches to digital transformation. A lively panel discussion followed, with professionals exchanging perspectives on governance, privacy, and the evolving digital landscape. The ALGIM update, a newly formed association, reinforced the collaborative spirit that defines this community.

By the end of the afternoon, the room was buzzing with inspiration - a true reflection of what makes this Community of Practice so special. Many attendees commented on how valuable it was to connect face-to-face before RIMPA Live officially began, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.
