The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has released the official Exposure Draft of the Children’s Online Privacy Code, inviting feedback from industry, academia, civil society and the broader community. Developed under the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024, the draft Code is designed to strengthen how online services protect children’s personal information and sets out proposed privacy obligations for organisations likely to be accessed by children. Stakeholders are encouraged to review both the Exposure Draft and accompanying Explanatory Statement and contribute to consultation now open through the OAIC.
