As the information management profession continues to evolve, the skills required of practitioners are changing alongside developments in technology, AI, data governance and broader organisational expectations. The new structure will allow RIMPA Global to strengthen its focus on both the current and future capability of practitioners and the education pathways that support people entering and progressing within the profession.

The Industry Education portfolio will now comprise of two areas:

Thomas Kaufhold has been appointed to lead this new portfolio, which will focus on RIMPA Global's relationships with universities and the higher education sector. This includes university accreditation, curriculum alignment, graduate capabilities, academic partnerships, student engagement and opportunities such as practicums and work-integrated learning.

The two portfolios will work closely together to strengthen the connection between industry needs, professional development and formal education, ensuring RIMPA Global continues to support information management practitioners throughout their career journey.

The restructure also provides RIMPA Global with greater capacity to respond to the changing skills and education requirements of the profession while continuing to build stronger connections between industry and academia.
