OWLs Program Spotlight: Margaret Pember

In our final week of highlighting exceptional individuals in the OWLs Program, we proudly introduce Margaret Pember. Her journey into records management is a captivating blend of chance and unwavering commitment.

Margaret's career took a dramatic turn as she transitioned from teaching to information management. Armed with an initial teaching degree, she spent a decade nurturing young minds. However, as technology reshaped education, Margaret returned to university to explore information management.

Her records management career spanned diverse sectors, from government to private consulting. She later became a lecturer at Curtin University, amassing 15 fruitful years before assuming a part-time archivist role at a private school, where her expertise proved invaluable.

Margaret's career highlights include managing 3 million records and leading a team of 44 staff during a government inquiry. She earned international recognition as a Visiting Lecturer in Singapore and prestigious awards like the Curtin University Teaching Awards and the Eddis Linton Award.

Margaret also made significant contributions to our professional community, serving on the RMAA and ARMA Boards.
