RIMPA Members To Be a Part of History.
We are delighted to share the exciting news that a delegation from RIMPA Global will soon embark on a remarkable journey to Toronto, Canada, in order to officially launch the highly anticipated Global Information Consortium (GIC). Leading this endeavor will be Anne Cornish and Jo Kane, accompanied by esteemed board members Thomas Kaufhold, Peta Sweeney, Bonita Kennedy, and Jeremy Manford, as they attend the prestigious ARMA Canada Information Conference 2023 to introduce the GIC to the world.
The establishment of the GIC is a significant accomplishment, made possible through the support of our members and vendors, as well as our collaboration with ARMA, our esteemed partner in the United States. This consortium offers RIMPA members a platform to advocate for the information management industry on a larger scale, granting them a more influential voice. By joining the consortium, we immediately become part of an 8,000-member community that continues to grow with each new industry participant.
The vision behind the GIC is to create a global community comprising over 100,000 members, dedicated to championing the effective and ethical management of information—a world where information management becomes an integral part of the corporate and government landscape.
During this trip, RIMPA representatives will also have the opportunity to meet with the Canadian Chief Archivist, as well as engage with both current and prospective sponsors. A joint meeting of ARMA and RIMPA will take place to discuss global membership, and our CEO will participate as a panellist, shedding light on the information management challenges faced worldwide, in collaboration with AIIM and ARMA. Furthermore, our CEO will deliver a presentation on the skills necessary for sustainability in the information management industry.
As part of our agenda, RIMPA Board representatives will conduct a brief workshop to explore ways in which we can enhance the services we provide to our ARMA/RIMPA members. Additionally, we will conduct research into ARMA's professional certification process.
This journey signifies the beginning of RIMPA's global presence and serves to strengthen our international relationships.
