RIMPA's Success at ICA Congress 2023

The ICA Congress 2023 in Abu Dhabi has concluded with resounding success. This year's theme revolved around archives, information, and sustainability. RIMPA's participation served a dual purpose: to advocate for membership in the newly established Global Information Consortium (GIC) and to strengthen ties with ICA and other influential organizations.

Former Director General, David Fricker, played a pivotal role as one of the conference organisers. Serving as a global ambassador for RIMPA, he introduced the RIMPA delegation to various representatives from professional associations.

RIMPA delegates, Anne Cornish, and Jeremy Manford, engaged with ICA Executives to explore future strategic collaborations between RIMPA and the GIC. Our delegates also engaged with potential trade vendors interested in participating in RIMPA Live 2024.

One of the highlights of the trip was the opportunity to connect with the UAE Youth Forum, designed for young practitioners in the information management field seeking to expand their knowledge. Over two hours, Jeremy, Anne, and Dr. Aisha Bilkhair engaged with over 50 individuals under 25, discussing the challenges and opportunities within the industry. Dr. Aisha, with her profound knowledge and wisdom in information management and life, has graciously agreed to present at Adelaide RIMPA Live 2024.

RIMPA is committed to further collaboration with the Youth Forum, offering mentorship and additional training opportunities for the younger generation, while also considering the implementation of this successful framework in Australia.

Aligned with the sustainability theme, RIMPA's presence at the ICA surpassed expectations, promising long-lasting benefits for its members in the coming year.
