RIMPA to Attend IRMS Conference

RIMPA heads to Manchester to discuss the Global Information Consortium, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing in records and information management.

RIMPA Global representatives will be traveling to Manchester on May 10th to meet with their UK counterparts to discuss the newly formed Global Information Consortium (GIC). The GIC is an international alliance of records and information management please change associations to bodies as RIMPA is not an association that aims to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices in the field.

RIMPA is celebrating Information Awareness Month in May while the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) hold their annual conference. RIMPA, ARMA, and the Association for Records and Archives (ARA) amongst others will be in attendance, providing RIMPA with an opportunity to make further alliances. During the conference, RIMPA representatives will be engaging in discussions with the IRMS Board on partnership opportunities and how they can participate in the GIC. They will follow this up with similar discussions with the ARA and current partner Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC).

Apart from attending the conference, Anne Cornish and Jeremy Manford from RIMPA will utilize this occasion to have a meeting with Jeff James, the CEO of UK Archives. Their agenda includes discussing significant global concerns in information management as well as introducing the new global consortium.

The IRMS Conference will conclude with a Plenary Panel on global issues, where delegates will have the opportunity to hear from Anne Cornish from RIMPA, Ruth Murdoch from ARA, and Reynold Leming from IRMS, who will discuss global issues related to information management.

RIMPA's participation in the event and the ensuing discussions mark a crucial milestone towards enhancing global cooperation and knowledge sharing in the field of records and information management.
