Bringing together archivists, records and information professionals, researchers, academics, students, artists and community representatives, the conference will explore how archives are evolving in response to changing technologies, community expectations and new approaches to engagement.

Hosted at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on the traditional lands of the Palawa people of lutruwita (Tasmania), the event will examine what "Archival Futures" means for the profession and how community, engagement and technology are shaping the future of archives and recordkeeping.

The conference organisers are inviting contributions from a broad range of voices and experiences. The program will provide opportunities to explore emerging challenges and innovations, discuss evolving archival concepts, and consider how archives can better connect with communities while embracing technological change.

Suggested topics include digital accessibility, privacy and ethical considerations, Indigenous self-determination, community outreach and access, archival education, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, and the use of technology to enhance engagement with archives.

The conference aims to foster discussion on the future role of archives, how communities will interact with archival collections, and how technology can support preservation, access and engagement in the years ahead.

Whether you are an experienced practitioner, emerging professional or someone working alongside archives in the broader information and cultural heritage sectors, the conference offers an opportunity to contribute to conversations that will help shape the future of the profession.
