Strong Start for the New M365 Community of Practice

Last Thursday marked the exciting launch of RIMPA Global’s first M365 Community of Practice, with an overwhelming response from the Information Management community.

Following more than 100 Expressions of Interest to be involved in the initiative, over 85 participants attended the first online session, highlighting the strong demand for practical conversations, collaboration and shared learning around Microsoft 365.

A huge thank you goes to RIMPA Global Ambassador Carolyn Hartman CXRIM CRIM, who has worked tirelessly to bring this initiative to fruition after several years in the making.

Carolyn opened the session by reflecting on the journey behind the CoP and acknowledging the collaborative effort involved in bringing the community together. She also highlighted the importance of creating a space that supports practitioners navigating the evolving M365 landscape.

Special thanks also to the Ambassadors supporting the initiative:

  • Cathy Shi
  • Jacqueline Borret CXRIM CRIM
  • Miccaeli Champness
  • Michele Marsburg CERIM ARIM
  • Nicole Thorne-Vicatos CERIM CRIM
  • Peter Toby
  • Jade White

Carolyn also gave special recognition to Peta Sweeney CXRIM FRIM (Life) for championing Ambassador-led initiatives, and Karl Melrose CERIM, who originally sparked the idea for the CoP several years ago.

The session began with a series of live poll questions designed to better understand where participants currently sit in their M365 journey and how they are feeling overall about implementation and governance within their organisations.

This was followed by interactive discussions and breakout sessions led by:

  • Jacqueline Borret CXRIM CRIM
  • Cathy Shi
  • Miccaeli Champness

The conversations throughout the session reinforced the value of peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and highlighted the strong appetite within the profession for practical collaboration around Microsoft 365.

The M365 Community of Practice is currently open to both members and non-members for the first six months, providing an opportunity for the broader IM community to experience the value of RIMPA Global’s collaborative professional networks.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed to such a successful first session.
