Win for RIMPA Global as we advocate for Public Records Advisory Council

Earlier this year, the Victorian Parliament tabled a bill that would abolish the Public Records Advisory Council (PRAC). Advisory bodies are widely used and provide informed perspectives and advice, assist in shaping strategy, identifying risk, providing technical expertise, or advice in specific areas, and promoting effective governance.
Abolishing PRAC would put The Public Records Office Victoria at odds with the vast majority of Australian, New Zealand, and national archives. So, RIMPA and the ASA collectively lobbied the parliament to reconsider this decision.
We did it! Thanks to our support, the provision to abolish PRAC was rejected.
