RIMPA Advocacy

Click to find out more on the findings of the University Accord Discussion Paper and our stance on the issues covered within.

This week RIMPA advocated for further inclusion of employers and industry bodies in the decisions surrounding the future of higher education.

The University Accord Discussion Paper was released earlier this year for consultation aimed at aligning Australia’s high quality higher education system and national needs. The Accord is a way to develop a shared, long-term commitment among the stakeholders in Australian higher education, and improve the way they work together to address major challenges and opportunities, thus strengthening the system over time.

In response to the 50 questions within the document, RIMPA’s stance is to include employers, industry and peak bodies in course content and preparing graduates for employment. Course content is to remain relevant and reviewed in line with new technology and trends. Reference to additional work integration placements was another key message submitted in the RIMPA response as well as making higher education more attainable for all Australians.
